Core Key Fob Olive Green with keys

Build your own lanyard key fob

When we build something ourselves it just seems to connect with us on another level through the exploration, learning, sometimes frustration and then the gratification of using something we've made. With that experience in mind I thought we would share how we assemble our Core Key Fob so you could make your own.  You will need a key ring, 550lb Type III Paracord and a Core Lanyard Bead to get started or just 550lb Type III Paracord and a Core Lanyard Bead if you’re attaching directly to a tool.

Key Fob: Cut paracord to 13 inches

Lanyard Bead: Cut paracord to 11 inches (it may take a little trial and error to get your desire length)

Helpful note: Paracord needs to be cut with a hot knife (I use a wood burning tool with a chisel tip) to keep it from fraying and to keep the inner core yarn (kern) from separating from the outer braided sleeve (mantle).

Build your own with the Core Lanyard Bead.
